Caring for Your Damask
Congratulations on receiving or purchasing your first Damask tablecloth! We want this piece to be a part of your family for generations, so please take careful note of the following care instructions before you begin.
Care Instruction
Your Damask is made from high quality linen and laundry instructions must be followed carefully to avoid damage. Do not be afraid to use the stated temperatures, as the textile undergoes high temperatures during its production. Shake out any debris and crumbs, prior to laundry. Stain removal products can be used but it is recommended to test the product on a small area.
In general, linen can be washed at high temperatures, but a 60°C wash is usually effective as the smooth surface of the flax fiber allows stains to be released easily. Do not wash at less than the recommended temperature.
you can place linens in the dryer on low heat. This will help remove some wrinkles that are often associated with linen. However, you should remove the linens while they are still somewhat damp.
Iron while the fabric is still damp. A hot iron is usually recommended for linen, but with so many blends – especially in fashion fabrics – it is best to test iron first. A good steam iron will work best on pure linen.
Linen is constructed using flax fibers. These natural fibers are more prone to wrinkling, which is where dry cleaning comes in handy.
